I ask for your email so I can send you your card. If you tick the box, I also send you one letter a week. I read the answers people write in their own words, because that is how the library grows. I do not sell anything to anyone, and I do not share your details with anyone except the services listed below that I need to run this.

Your email address. So I can send you your card, and, if you asked for it, the weekly letter. You give it to me at the end of the reading.
Your answers to the twelve questions. Which option you chose for each one. Without these there is no card.
Anything you write in your own words. If you use the Other box instead of choosing an option, I store what you wrote.
Your result. The pattern the reading produced from your answers, and the date you took it.
Whatever you send through the contact form. Your name, your email, and your message.
I do not ask for your real name at any point during the reading. I do not collect your address, your phone number, your date of birth, or anything about your health, your beliefs, or your background.
To send you your card. You gave me your email specifically so I could send it, so this is me doing the thing you asked for. In legal terms, this is necessary to provide what you requested.
To send you the weekly letter. Only if you asked for it, and only for as long as you want it. In legal terms, this is consent, and you can take it back at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any letter, or by writing to me.
To reply to you if you use the contact form. You wrote to me, so I answer.
To keep the library honest and useful. I read what people write in their own words, and over time it tells me what people actually struggle with, which shapes what I write next. In legal terms, this is my legitimate interest in improving what I make. If you would rather I did not, write to me and I will delete what you wrote.
When you write your own answer instead of choosing one, it is processed by Anthropic, an artificial intelligence service, so it can be matched to a pattern and reflected back on your card.
I read written answers myself. They shape what I research and write about next, and I would rather you knew that before you write something personal.
They are never published. The version of your card you can share leaves them out entirely.
I use a small number of services to run this. Each one only handles what it needs to, and none of them may use your information for their own purposes.
Supabase stores the database, on servers in Ireland.
Resend sends the emails.
Anthropic processes the answers you write in your own words, as described above.
Lovable hosts the website.
Google provides the analytics described under Cookies below.
Some of these are based outside the European Union. Where that means your information travels outside the EU, it is covered by the standard legal safeguards for such transfers.
I do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone. If a letter ever carries a sponsor or a paid recommendation, it will say so plainly on the face of it, and the sponsor still never receives your details.
The ones the site cannot work without. Three small files. One blocks automated abuse of the site. One records which version of the site you were served, so that pages load correctly. One keeps your place while you are answering the questions, so your answers are not lost between one question and the next. These do not follow you anywhere and are not used for advertising.
Analytics. I use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, where they came from, and which pages they read. It is provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California, United States, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, nothing is collected for analytics until you agree to it through the banner, and you can change your mind at any time using the Cookies link in the footer. The legal basis is your consent. Elsewhere, analytics runs by default, and you can still opt out using the same link.
Google's option to use this data to improve its own products is turned off, and your address is shortened before it is stored, so it cannot be traced back to you.
There is no advertising, nothing from social networks, and nothing that follows you across other websites.
Your reading and anything you wrote: twenty-four months from your most recent reading, then automatically deleted. This runs on a schedule, not on my memory.
Your email address: for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, I keep the address on a do-not-contact list, so that I never email you again by accident. If you would rather it were deleted entirely, ask me and I will do that instead.
The record that you agreed to the letter: three years, because if anyone ever asks whether you agreed, I need to be able to show that you did.
Messages sent through the contact form: as long as the conversation is useful to either of us, and no longer than two years.
You can ask me to show you everything I hold about you. You can ask me to correct it. You can ask me to delete it. You can ask me to stop using it in a particular way. You can ask for a copy in a form you can take elsewhere. And if you agreed to the letter, you can take that back at any time, which does not affect anything that happened before you did.
Write to hello@shakibhammad.com and I will do it. There is no form and no process. I will answer within thirty days, and almost always much sooner.
If you think I have handled your information badly, tell me at hello@shakibhammad.com. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your own country.
If I change anything meaningful here, I will update the date at the top, and if the change affects how I use what you have already given me, I will email you about it rather than quietly editing the page.
